NCAA To Grant Extra Year
The NCAA voted today to allow all-spring sport athletes an additional year of eligibility after their seasons were cut short due to the COVID-19 coronavirus. Alabama softball, baseball, track and field, men's and women's golf, men's and women's tennis and the Alabama women's crew teams will all be granted an extra year of eligibility.

It’s a big February Friday for Alabama athletics as five of its teams will be in action. The top ranked Alabama softball team heads down to Tallahassee Florida to play two games with each North Carolina and Florida State. The women’s gymnastics team hosts its “Power of Pink” meet in Tuscaloosa against Missouri. The men’s tennis team returns to from Minnesota to Tuscaloosa to take on Tulsa. The Alabama swimming and diving team travels to Auburn to participate in the Auburn Invitational and the Tide indoor track and field team heads out to Albuquerque to participate in the New Mexico Classic.

In what will go down as one of the most dominant performances in NCAA doubles finals history, Alabama’s Maya Jansen and Erin Routliffe captured the program’s first national title dropping a combined 13 points all match en route to the 6-1, 6-0 victory over Georgia’s Lauren Herring and Maho Kowase on Monday.
