Soutland has been coaching the offensive line for 18 years in the college and professional ranks. He has prior ties to Saban and Alabama having served as offensive line coach at the Capstone for two seasons from 2011-12.
The University of Texas hired former Alabama offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian as its new head coach and all eyes turn to who else on the Crimson Tide staff may join him in Austin. According to ESPN's Ian Fitzsimmons, offensive line coach Kyle Flood will join the Longhorns as offensive coordinator and offensive line coach.
Alabama's big week on the recruiting trail keeps on going. The Crimson Tide have secured the commitment of four-star, offensive guard, Terrence Ferguson. Ferguson is a 6-foot-4, 300 pound guard out of Peach County High School in Fort Valley, Georgia. He is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the second best guard in the nation, the fifth best recruit in the state of Georgia and the 47th overall recruit in the country.
Two of Alabama's biggest targets in the 2021 class have announced they will announce their college commitment tomorrow. Tommy and James Brockermeyer, twins from All Saints Episcopal High School in Fort Worth, Texas made the announcement on Twitter that tomorrow they would be committing to college.
