Spring Practice

With top recruits coming in and a host of veteran Crimson Tide players on the active roster, fans can expect several heated competitions to determine who will rise to the top of Alabama’s depth charts this offseason.

The Alabama Crimson Tide officially opens its national championship defense as the outstanding football program begins spring practice on Friday. It will be Alabama's first spring practice since 2019 as last season's practice time was cancelled, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, hours before it was scheduled to start.

The “Road to 19” is officially here. Alabama announced earlier this week that the defending-champion Crimson Tide will start spring practices on Friday, March 19. After 15 total practices, the work of the football team will culminate in Bryant-Denny Stadium for “A-Day” on Saturday, April 17.

Alabama Head Football Coach Nick Saban held a Zoom teleconference today and updated the media on the new normal for the Crimson Tide. Saban, alone in his office, communicated through Zoom due to the CDC guidelines on holding large gatherings. He updated the media on how his program is dealing with the societal changes while staying productive.

Alabama will not be holding spring practice today amid concern over the spread of COVID-19. Nick Saban was slated to open up spring football practice today for one practice before sending the team off for Spring Break. The Crimson Tide football team follows the procedure set by the NBA, the NCAA, NHL and other major organizations by deciding to postpone athletic activity.
