The “Road to 19” is officially here. Alabama announced earlier this week that the defending-champion Crimson Tide will start spring practices on Friday, March 19. After 15 total practices, the work of the football team will culminate in Bryant-Denny Stadium for “A-Day” on Saturday, April 17.

Leading up to the start of spring camp, the members of the football team have been participating in the “4th Quarter Program.” While most years result in a start to spring practice after the university’s Spring Break, this year will be different. Due to the spring vacation being cut out of the academic calendar, the Crimson Tide will get to work sooner.

Below are the announced 15 practice days, including the “A-Day” scrimmage. All starting times are 3:30 p.m. unless noted.

Fri., March 19

Mon., March 22
Wed., March 24
Fri., March 26
Sat., March 27 (Time to be announced)

Tues., March 30
Thurs., April 1
Fri., April 2 (Time to be announced)**

Mon., April 5
Wed., April 7
Fri., April 9
Sat. April 10 (Time to be announced)**

Tues., April 13
Thurs., April 15
Sat., April 17 - A-Day (Time to be announced)**

** - Practice/scrimmage will occur in Bryant-Denny Stadium

While A-Day scrimmages in the past have been free, ticketless, and first-come-first-serve for seating, this year will be a new experience for fans. To attend the A-Day game, fans will need to obtain tickets. Capacity will be limited to about 20-25 percent.

In addition, there will be no media allowed at the practices. Instead, Alabama will continue 2020’s trend of Zoom press conferences to help reporters out.
