Alabama QB Commit Tayden Kaawa Ends High School Career with State Championship Win
As 2025 comes to a close, high school football is wrapping up across the country. Alabama's AHSAA Playoffs will play its state championships for the Super 7 the week after Thanksgiving, leading up to the conference championships that Saturday in college football.

One Alabama commit wrapped up his season the way every kid dreams, by claiming a state championship. Alabama three-star quarterback commit Tayden Kaawa led the Orem Tigers to a Utah 5A State Championship. Orem defeated Springville High School 42-7 in the state championship.
Kaawa threw a touchdown early in the matchup, securing a 14-point lead (and effectively ending the game, as Springville only scored seven points), with the rest of the Tigers' roster doing the heavy lifting after that. Kaawa ended his senior season with an 8-2 regular season record, throwing for over 2,500 yards and 34 touchdowns, completing 60% of his passes, with 249 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
Kaawa has elite size, standing at 6-foot-5 and 235 pounds. He's rated as a three-star prospect from Orem High School in Orem, Utah, ranked as the No. 495 overall prospect in the 2026 class and the No. 31 quarterback. Kaawa took an official visit to Alabama on June 20.
Kaawa is one of two quarterback commits for Alabama in the 2026 class, joining four-star Nebraska quarterback Jett Thomalla. Thomalla is ranked as the No. 57 overall player in the 2026 class from Millard South High School in Omaha, Nebraska.
