The Alabama baseball team finished fall ball with a 3-1 record after splitting two games with  Florida State Saturday. Though UA did not release final scores of the two six-inning exhibition games, an in-person witness confirmed to Townsquare Media that Alabama won game one 5-3 but fell 2-0 in the nightcap.

Here's what first-year coach Rob Vaughn had to say about the doubleheader: “These fall exhibitions showed us what we’re capable of doing, especially after playing really good teams like Auburn and Florida State. It also showed us what we have got to get better at and that’s the point of these.

"You want to play these teams that help you to see where you have got to grow, and I think this group’s got a high upside, they’ve got a lot of confidence in what they’re doing. They also have a good awareness of what we have to get better at, and that’s what we’ll work on between now and February.”

As was the case in the earlier doubleheader sweep of Auburn, the long ball was key to the Tide's win in game one against the Seminoles.Evan Sleight and Camden Hayslip each hammered solo shots while Bryce Eblin slammed a three-run homer deep into the Right Field Terrace. Eblin led the Tide in RBIs, while Sleight paced UA in runs scored with two.

Ben Hess got the start in game one while former reliever Riley Quick took the mound for the start the second contest. The Alabama  arms posted 16 strikeouts while allowing four earned runs over  12.0 innings of work. Aidan Moza highlighted the pitching effort, striking out two in his frame of work to close out the first half of the day.

Alabama will break on Sunday and then return to the diamond for a final stretch of work. The Crimson Tide will practice next week before taking part in an annual Crimson/White   World Series to cap the fall schedule. That series is the equivalent of football's A-Day game.
