Tide Land Second DB Transfer This Week
The Alabama Crimson Tide continue to land defensive back help in the transfer portal following the departure of several defensive backs after former head coach Nick Saban retired. Alabama already lost several people to the transfer portal in December, and the hits kept coming after Coach Saban retired, losing multiple potential starters and freshman All-American Caleb Downs.
However, Alabama is in the process of regaining some of that depth in the defensive backfield. The Crimson Tide have two transfers expected to start in 2024, with USC transfer Domani Jackson expected to start at cornerback and Michigan transfer Keon Sabb expected to start at safety.
Alabama has also picked up several commitments during the spring transfer portal window, with Charlotte DB Kameron Howard committing to Alabama, and Wake Forest cornerback DaShawn Jones committing to Alabama earlier in the week.
Now, the Crimson Tide get some more help in the secondary, landing a commitment from Penn State transfer safety King Mack, according to his X (Formerly known as Twitter).
Mack had just three tackles last season for Penn State. Coming out of high school, he was a consensus four-star recruit and a top-90 overall player in the 2023 recruiting cycle. Mack should come in and provide quality depth to a safety room that returned just one starter from 2023.
