The Alabama baseball team secured a massive victory on Tuesday in the SEC Tournament with a 4-1 victory over the Missouri Tigers. Alabama starter Tyler Fay tied his career high in strikeouts with six in the Tide's win over the Tigers.

Alabama's victory should earn the Tide a hosting bid when the 16 regional hosts are announced next week for the NCAA baseball tournament, but a victory over Tennessee would sweeten the deal and all but lock in Alabama as a host, resulting in more games being played at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. However, to defeat Tennessee, Alabama will need an ace on the mound to pitch against the Volunteers.

However, arguably the Tide's best pitcher may not be available. Alabama pitching coach Jason Jackson said in a postgame interview that ace pitcher Riley Quick will not be available for the Tide's contest against the Vols tomorrow.

Alabama head coach Rob Vaughn was a little slower to rule out Quick, but said he was trying to convince the staff to let him play on Wednesday in Hoover.

Alabama will face Tennessee in the second round of the SEC Baseball tournament on Wednesday, May 21. First pitch is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. CT.
