Former Alabama Crimson Tide cornerback, and known detector of lies, Tony Brown, has been signed to the Las Vegas Raiders practice squad. The former five star, most remembered by Bama fans for his rant following the 2018 Sugar Bowl, was brought onto the team after the release of quarterback Kyle Sloter and defensive back Robert Jackson.

Brown came to Alabama in 2014 as the second ranked cornerback in all of Texas. In his first season, Brown appeared in 13 games, making two starts. Following a solid freshman season as a rotational player, Brown saw a lot of time on special teams in his sophomore year. Finally in his junior and senior years, Brown was upgraded to a starter and played exceptionally for Alabama, providing not only lockdown coverage, but vocal leadership.

While his time in the NFL has been less than memorable, starting in just four games over a three year career, Brown's aforementioned rant at Alabama is something worth looking back on.

Alabama beat Clemson handily in the 2018 College Football Playoff semifinal matchup after suffering a loss the year prior in the championship game, and Brown took his opportunity to shed some light on what motivated the Crimson Tide going in.

Brown explained the team was unhappy with what some of Clemson's players said following the 2017 meeting of the two teams, saying, "Last year after the National Championship game, Hunter Renfrow lied, so I thank him," Brown continued, growing louder, "I thank him and Dabo Swinney for all the ammunition they gave this team to come get right in this game."

What exactly Hunter Renfrow lied about? We may never know.

Now that the two are on the same team; however, maybe they will settle their differences and bury the hatchet. Until then, I, as many other Crimson Tide fans have chosen to do so, will believe Brown in that Renfrow did, indeed, lie.
