TPD Releases Names of Suspended Officers in UA Arrests
The Tuscaloosa Police Department has released the names of the officers placed on administrative leave following the arrests of three students at the University of Alabama this weekend.Fox 6 reports that the officers are Officer James Kent, Officer Phillip Champion, and Officer Gregory Pimm.
The officers were responding to a noise complaint at an apartment complex in the 500 block of Frank Thomas Ave and arrested 21-year-old Brandon James Williford of Tennessee; 22-year-old Matthew Macia of Johns Creek, GA; and 22-year-old Caroline Giddis of Tennessee. Charges include harassment, obstruction of governmental operations, and resisting arrest. The case is under investigation; and the first court date for the three students is set for Monday, Nov. 16 at 8:30 a.m.
