Rob Vaughn Secures Another Transfer Arm from Northwestern State for 2027
The Crimson Tide picked up its fifth transfer portal commit on Monday, and its third pitching addition, as right-handed pitcher Dylan Marionneaux announced his commitment to Alabama for the 2027 season on his X account.

The Louisiana native spent three seasons at Northwestern State, appearing in 44 games with a 10-12 career record and three complete games (two in 2026). He posted a 4.92 ERA over 177.1 innings in his Demons career.
Marionneaux broke out in 2026, shining as a junior with 81 strikeouts while walking only 18 batters, 74 hits allowed, and a 3.51 ERA across 84.2 innings. He tossed nine scoreless innings on three separate occasions, including two complete games, and earned First-Team All-Southland Conference honors after leading the league in innings pitched.
This is a strong addition for a Tide squad looking to boost its bullpen and solidify its weekend rotation for the upcoming season. With Tyler Fay and Zane Adams expected to depart for the 2026 MLB Draft, two starting spots remain open. Marionneaux will compete with fellow portal pitchers Garret Lambert (Mercer) and Michael Senjay (USF) for those roles during the offseason. The competition should be exciting, as both Senjay and Marionneaux pitched at least 81 innings this season, while Lambert led the trio in strikeouts last year with 90.
The Louisiana right-hander brings the most collegiate experience of the group and will push for a weekend spot alongside returning Sunday starter Myles Upchurch, who is lined up to take over Friday duties as a sophomore.
Vaughn and his staff have now added five transfers, three of them pitchers. Here's the full list:
- Dylan Marionneaux (RHP, Northwestern State, Senior)
- Mateo Serna (C, Missouri, Senior)
- Michael Senjay (RHP, USF, Sophomore)
- Garret Lambert (RHP, Mercer, Redshirt Sophomore)
- Cooper Neville (MIF, Dallas Baptist, Senior)
