Trent Seaborn Commits to Alabama

The Crimson Tide has its quarterback for the 2027 recruiting class, with the second-highest ranked quarterback in the 2027 recruiting class making his official commitment to Alabama.

According to Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports/Rivals, four-star Thompson High School quarterback Trent Seaborn has committed to the Crimson Tide. Thompson High School is located in Alabaster, Alabama, less than one hour fron Tuscaloosa.

According to the 247 Sports composite rankings, Seaborn is the No. 243 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class, ranking as the no. 18 quarterback in the class. He is the No. 7 player in Alabama. The only quarterback ranked ahead of him in Alabama is the son of NFL legend Phillip Rivers: Gunner Rivers from Fairhope, Alabama.

Seaborn has been the starting quarterback for Thompson High School since his eighth grade year, and has never missed the AHSAA Super Seven State Championship game. In 2024, he was named a MaxPreps Sophomore All-American and a finalist for the Alabama 7A Back of the Year. He led the Warriors to a state championship in 2024.

During his 2024 state championship season, Seaborn passed for 2,675 yards and 26 touchdowns, while adding 256 yards and one touchdown on the ground.

Seaborn held offers from major college football programs across the country, including Alabama, Auburn, Oregon, and LSU, among others.

247 Sports Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins wrote in his scouting report on Seaborn:

"-Poised and decorated quarterback with leadership qualities that has played a lot of football and is tracking to exit high school is a rare five-year varsity starter.
-Excells as an intermediate passer with his pace and precision. Will use trajectory to his advantage when looking to attack vertically and can throw targets open in the deeper third.
-Atheltic and enough to trigger RPOs and is rather creative in the face of pressure as he will extend plays with his mobility.
-Not afraid to thread the needle and challenge defenders, but has to cut down on the mistakes and limit turnovers.
-Projects at this stage as a potential multi-year starter at the Power Four level that can keep a balanced attack on schedule when the heat ramps up."

Alabama now holds the No. 7 recruiting class in the 2027 cycle. Seaborn marks the fifth commitment for Alabama in 2027, joining:
