Simpson is joined by two other SEC quarterbacks, Marcel Reed and Gunner Stockton, who both secured much more tightly contested wins than Simpson did on Saturday. Reed led Texas A&M to a 41-40 victory over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in South Bend, Indiana, on Saturday night, while Stockton led the Georgia Bulldogs to a 44-41 overtime victory over the Tennessee Volunteers in Knoxville, Tennessee, on Saturday. Both Texas A&M and Georgia advanced to 3-0 on the season with their victories.
Through three games this season, Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson is completing 71.9% of his passes, throwing for 862 yards and nine touchdowns through three games this season. Simpson has also tallied 45 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown this season.
Simpson and the Crimson Tide will have a week off before traveling to Athens, Georgia, to take on the Georgia Bulldogs on September 27.
