“No Decision Yet” For Ty Simpson on NFL Draft, Per His Agent
Alabama is again faced with a quarterback who must make a decision on his future with the program for the second-straight season. Quarterback Jalen Milroe decided to forgo his final year of eligibility last season, declaring for the 2025 NFL draft, and now, Ty Simpson must make the same decision.

Simpson started the season hot for the Crimson Tide, climbing in Heisman rankings and NFL draft boards, before cooling off late in the season. Colin Gay of the Tuscaloosa News reported on Sunday that Simpson played the second half of the season with multiple injuries, including a back injury. Simpson was benched during Alabama's 38-3 loss to Indiana in the Rose Bowl after suffering a cracked rib on a hit by Hoosiers' safety D'Angelo Ponds, which forced a fumble by Simpson.
Simpson's agent, Peter Webb, tells On3 Sports that the Crimson Tide quarterback has yet to decide on his future, but is currently weighing all his options with his family.
"No decisions have been made about Ty declaring for the draft at this point, and he is still evaluating everything with his family and close advisors," Webb said.
Simpson passed for 3,567 yards and 28 touchdowns with five interceptions in his first season as the Crimson Tide's quarterback. He also ended the year with 93 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Over the first seven games of the season, Simpson completed 70.1% of his passes for 1,931 yards and 18 touchdowns to just one interception. During the second half of the season, Simpson completed 59.6% of his passes for 1,636 yards and 10 touchdowns to four interceptions.
Simpson has until January 14 to decide if he will return to school or declare for the NFL and forgo his final season of eligibility.
