Younger, a 6-foot-4, 217-pound edge rusher from Greater Atlanta Christian School in Norcross, Georgia, chose the Crimson Tide over the Rutgers Scarlet Knights and the Stanford Cardinal. He's ranked as the No. 1,075 overall prospect, the No. 99 edge, and the No. 122 player in the state of Georgia, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking. His primary recruiter was Alabama outside linebackers coach Christian Robinson.

He has taken two visits to the Crimson Tide, including his official visit on June 19. He also took official visits to Stanford, Rutgers, and UCF. He held offers from Alabama, Stanford, Rutgers, UCF, Syracuse, and Boston College as his Power Four offers. He brings good length to Alabama's edge room and a willingness to get nasty in the trenches, something that Alabama has consistently pursued via the recruiting class and the transfer portal.

Younger is the 10th commitment in Alabama's 2027 recruiting class, according to the Rivals Recruiting Board:

Five-Star QB Elijah Haven
Four-Star RB Nigel Newkirk
Four-Star QB Trent Seaborn
Three-Star RB Tai Phillips
Three-Star CB Darrius White
Three-Star DL AJ Pauley
Three-Star TE Michael Nnabuife
Three-Star Edge Tyler Younger
Three-Star TE Oakley Keegan
Kicker Luke Cody
