It was a year ago that Alabama linebacker Mack Wilson suffered a foot injury against the LSU Tigers that almost cost him the rest of the season.

He would eventually battle back to play sparingly against Auburn before having big games against Clemson and Georgia in the College Football Playoff. Now the junior is gearing up for those same LSU Tigers with a lot on the line.

"I just remember me getting hurt that game," Wilson said. "I was kind of heartbroken, to me because I felt like I was fixing to have a good game or whatever. But me going into this game injury-free, I feel like being the leader of the defense out there, we can make an impact and make sure everybody on my team makes impacts, too."

He'll need to have his defense ready on Saturday night against an efficient LSU offense that will try to match Alabama's scoring. Wilson said the team is approaching this one like every other game but some players might be taking it a little more personally thanks to roots in Louisiana.

"Dylan (Moses), he's ready to smash somebody. You know, that's where he's from so he's fired up."
