With the conclusion of the 2026 college football season, the Indiana Hoosiers have made history, being the first 16-0 national champion of the College Football Playoff era. As we turn the page toward the 2026 college football season, odds have been released for teams to win the 2027 College Football Playoff National Championship.

The top team is the new reigning national champion, the Indiana Hoosiers, who sit tied with the Ohio State Buckeyes at +700. The first SEC team is the Texas Longhorns, who sit at third overall in terms of odds at +750.
In the top ten, there are three Big Ten teams, five SEC teams, one Big 12 team, and Notre Dame.

Alabama's current preseason odds of +1800 are the lowest for the Crimson Tide entering a season since the start of the 2008 season, when the Crimson Tide's odds opened at +6000. Alabama went on to go 12-2 overall, undefeated in the regular season, before falling to Florida in the SEC championship and Utah in the Sugar Bowl. The next season, the Crimson Tide went undefeated and won the national championship.
