West Alabama Football Finals – November 8
The first round of the AHSAA Playoffs has concluded, and with it, the field of teams remaining has once again been cut in half. Eight of our area teams made the AHSAA Playoffs, so let's check out how they performed on Friday night!
1A Class
Pickens Academy traveled to Leroy, Alabama to take on the Leroy Bears on Friday night. Pickens Academy lost to the Leroy Bears 43-20. Pickens Academy's season is now over.
Pickens County traveled to Hackleburg, Alabama to take on the Hackleburg Panthers. Pickens County lost the matchup 41-6. Pickens County's season is now over.
2A Class
Tuscaloosa Academy hosted the North Sand Mountain Bisons, taking care of business in a 42-6 victory on Friday night to advance to the second round of the AHSAA Playoffs. Tuscaloosa Academy will play Susan Moore High School next Friday night, November 15, at 7:00 p.m. CT.
3A Class
Hale County traveled to Daphne, Alabama to take on the Bayside Academy Admirals, losing in the first round of the playoffs 36-6. Hale County's season is now over.
Gordo hosted the Rogers High School Pirates, dominating the matchup with a 41-13 victory. Gordo will advance to the second round of the AHSAA playoffs, where they will play against the Fyffe Red Devils on Friday, November 15.
4A Class
No teams from our area made the playoffs in 4A.
5A Class
Northside traveled to Mobile, Alabama to take on the Williamson Lions on Friday night, losing to the Lions 46-0. Northside's season is now over.
Sipsey Valley also traveled to Mobile to take on the Vigor Wolves on Friday, losing to the Wolves 46-0. Sipsey Valley's season is now over.
6A Class
Northridge hit the road to Seale, Alabama to take on the Russell County Warriors. Northridge lost to Russell County, 42-25. Northridge's season is now over.
7A Class
No teams from our area made the playoffs in 7A.
