The 2022 NFL Draft saw just seven Crimson Tide players hear their names called and find steady homes with new teams. Five other players were picked up as undrafted free agents, but overall the class was somewhat disappointing when stacked against previous seasons.

Of the 12 players that are currently suiting up for new franchises, just a few are likely to have a major impact on their teams as rookies. Let's take a look at which former Alabama stars can breakthrough the rookie label and produce in year one.

Williams was picked early in the first round with the 12th overall selection and instantly became one of the most dynamic players on the Lions roster. Though he is still recovering from a knee injury suffered in his final game at Alabama, the former Buckeye is expected to be available early on in the season. Detroit finished 2021 with one of the league's worst offenses, so the addition of someone as explosive as Williams should pay dividends.

While the Lionswill likely still dwell around the bottom of the league, the speedy wideout is sure to make a major impact once he gets on the field.

Another wide receiver cracks the list, and for good reason. Like Williams, Metchie is also recovering from a knee injury suffered at Alabama, but could be available as early as Week 1. When healthy, the former four-star is arguably one of the most consistent receivers in the country, and on a team like the Texans, that sort of reliability is massive.

While Metchie will not blow anyone away with raw athletic traits or ability, he makes up for it with his knack to precisely attack secondaries. Expect the Crimson Tide product to be a key piece of Houston's offense as a rookie.

Jalyn Armour Davis, CB Baltimore Ravens

Don't let where Armour-Davis was drafted fool you, he will be a stud in the Ravens secondary. A fourth round pick, the former four-star joins a cornerback unit led by veterans Marlon Humphrey and Marcus Peters, but is likely the best option on the roster behind them. Though a starting role may be out of the question for the rookie, he is sure to be featured heavily in the rotation as Baltimore looks to replace Anthony Averett who departed in free agency.

Averett was meant to be a rotational player last season but was thrust into a starting role after a season ending ACL injury to Peters. While the veteran looks to be healthy again heading into this year, knee injuries often linger and that could leave an opening for Armour-Davis.
