There are few people that knows Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney as well as the school's Associate Athletic Director for Football, Woody McCorvey.

Not only has McCorvey worked with Swinney during his seven year tenure at Clemson, but he also served as Swinney's position coach during his college playing days at Alabama.

Inside the Locker Room had him on the show on Thursday to get his insight into why Swinney has been so successful throughout his career.

"The thing that drew me to Dabo was the effort and the energy and the fight and the will that he had on the practice field everyday that made me give him a chance," McCorvey said. "And he took that opportunity and made the most of it.

"He bounces around this building everyday and everybody is a joy. There are no bad days with him, none."

The Alabama native has been playing, coaching, or working in college football for nearly 50 years so he provides insight into this national championship game that few can match. McCorvey also explained how Swinney is a player's coach and how he put his staff together at Clemson.

The entire interview with McCorvey, which you can hear in the video above, gives you a good idea of why Swinney has been able to bring Clemson to the upper echelon of college football.
