Say what you will about 2016 but we've been blessed in Tuscaloosa to enjoy another great sports year. There's plenty to be thankful for this week and we wanted to share some of those things with you.

1. A Brand New Signal

Earlier this summer, Tide 99.1 transformed into Tide 102.9 to give more Alabama fans an opportunity to hear live and local sports programming. The new frequency dramatically increased our reach of our station, and we've been excited to hear new listeners about the change.

Last month, we also flipped the switch on 100.9 FM to provide Tuscaloosa and the surrounding areas with a signal that can be heard for miles. Together, the two frequencies can be heard just about anywhere around West Alabama.

2. Expanded Local Lineup

This year we increased the amount of local programming to give Alabama fans more coverage of their favorite teams. Tide 102.9 is now live from 6a - 6p every weekday and provides nearly 12 hours of Alabama football coverage every gameday.

3. A 'New' Station Vehicle

Sometimes you might not have the newest or shiniest toy, but it's important to be grateful for what you do have. For us, we finally got a station vehicle with a Tide 102.9 wrap to take on the road. You might have seen us at Orange Beach, Innisfree, or on the Strip over the past year.

4. The 16th National Championship in Football

For the first time ever, our station was able to cover the College Football Playoff Championship Game live from Glendale, Arizona. Even better, Alabama knocked off Clemson for the school's 16th national championship.

5. Crossing 1 Million YouTube Views

The Alabama fanbase is easily one of the most passionate in all of sports and that makes our jobs a ton of fun everyday. Being able to interact with each of you and provide you as much coverage of the Crimson Tide as possible truly is great. When we launched our YouTube channel a couple of years ago, we just wanted to find a way to provide more content for you and earlier this year we passed 1 million views on our channel. We're excited about passing the next million very soon as well. Thanks to everyone that's watched one of our videos. If you don't subscribe, make sure you do that here.
