Observations From Alabama Football Practice No. 10

TUSCALOSOA, Ala. - Alabama returned to the practice field on Monday, August 17, for the 10th practice of fall camp in preparation for the 2026 college football season. The media was allowed to view three periods (roughly 15 minutes) of Monday's practice; here is what we saw from the Crimson Tide:

Alabama's defensive backs were working on tracking the ball during individual periods that we got to see on Monday morning, with Zabien Brown leading the way. Brown made a nice one-handed snag during the viewing period.

Dijon Lee Jr. had to repeat a couple of reps, but was much more consistent when he repeated the rep.

Alongside Lee and Brown, Red Morgan, Chuck McDonald, Dre Kirkpatrick Jr., Zyan Gibson, Carmelo O'Neal, and Nick Sherman followed, with Jorden Edmonds missing practice after it was announced on Friday that he suffered an injury last week.

Wide receiver Lotzeir Brooks was back at practice after Kalen DeBoer announced following Thursday's scrimmage that he didn't participate in the scrimmage and would miss a couple of practices. Brooks' participation on Monday doesn't necessarily indicate that he is fully back, as we only saw three periods (roughly 15 minutes), and he appeared to be favoring his right leg when we spotted him. His participation in individual work is likely part of his rehab process.

Alabama's inside linebackers were working with coach Chuck Morrell, with QB Reese, Caleb Woodson, and Luke Metz leading the way after DeBoer highlighted Metz following the first scrimmage, with attendees telling Tide 100.9 that Metz got a majority of the first-team reps on Thursday.

Alabama will return to the practice field on Tuesday, August 18, for the 11th practice of fall camp. Alabama's second scrimmage of camp will be this Thursday, August 20. The first game of the 2026 season is scheduled for Saturday, September 5, when Alabama hosts East Carolina.
