Without playing a game in week 5, the Alabama Crimson Tide moved up to #1 in the Amway Coaches Poll.

Florida State lost the top spot after holding on to win 56-41 against NC State in a game where the Seminoles trailed by as many as 17 points at one time. The defending national champions still received the most first place votes this week.

The SEC West continues to have six teams ranked in the poll with half of those ranked in the top 7. Alabama's next opponent, Ole Miss, sits at number 11.
