The Alabama Crimson Tide baseball team is hosting the Troy Trojans for a midweek matchup on Tuesday at Thomas-Sewell Stadium. This will be the one and only matchup between these teams during the 2018 season.

The Crimson Tide (22-20) are coming off being swept by the rival Auburn Tigers this past weekend, which now puts them in last place in the SEC. Alabama, who is now 5-13 in the SEC, has lost seven of its last ten games in conference play dating back to April 1st. A victory over the Trojans on Tuesday would propel the Tide into its upcoming series against No. 7 Arkansas with some momentum. The Crimson Tide are still looking for that elusive sixth win in the SEC to push them ahead of last year's 5-24- final conference record. However, expectations are certainly much higher than that for the team moving forward.

The Troy Trojans (28-12) are currently in the hunt for a Sun Belt Conference title sitting in third place with an 11-7 record. The Trojans currently trail South Alabama and Coastal Carolina (who you may remember won the 2016 National Championship). Troy is in the midst of a five-game win streak, which is their second-longest of the season. On offense, outfielder Joey Denison has been the team's biggest producer, leading Troy in batting average (.386), RBIs (50), and on-base percentage (.468).

Alabama and Troy faced off once during the 2017 season, a 12-11 victory by the Trojans. The Crimson Tide will look to avenge last year's defeat and get back on track before heading to Fayetteville for a weekend series against the Razorbacks.

Tuesday's matchup is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start at Thomas-Sewell Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

The game can be seen live via SEC Network+ or you can stream the Crimson Tide Sports Network broadcast on Tide 102.9/100.9 or the Tide 102.9 app.
