The Alabama coaching staff recognized 12 players following the 31-3 win over Chattanooga last Saturday. Gehrig Dieter, Damien Harris, O.J. Howard and Cam Sims on offense, Jonathan Allen, Tony Brown, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Ronnie Harrison and Dalvin Tomlinson on defense, and Trevon Diggs, Keith Holcombe and JK Scott on special teams were each recognized on Monday.

Dieter finished with season-highs in receptions and touchdowns, reeling in three catches with two of them going for a score. Howard finished his day with one catch for a seven yards. He also helped block for Harris, allowing the sophomore tailback to rush for 91 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries. Harris averaged 7.0 yards per tote to extend his season rushing totals to a team-high 850 yards on 115 carries for a 7.4 yards per carry mark, which ranks sixth nationally and second in the SEC. Sims, making the start at wideout, tied his career-high mark in receptions, recording four catches for 34 yards.

The defense held Chattanooga to just three points and did not surrender a touchdown for the third straight game. Harrison led the way from his safety spot, recording a team-high 11 tackles. Tomlinson accounted for eight total tackles, which matched his career high, while Allen recorded six total tackles, including two tackles for loss (-5 yards). Brown accounted for six total tackles to set a new career mark, with one tackle for loss (-2 yards). Fitzpatrick finished the night with three total tackles and helped limit the Mocs to only 114 yards through the air.

Scott punted six times for 293 yards, including a long of 56 yards. Half of his six punts were beyond 50 yards, giving him 23 on the season. The junior punter pinned 66.7 percent of his punts inside the Mocs’ 20-yard line, including one inside the 10. Diggs returned three punts for 20 yards, with a long of 14, while Holcombe’s play on coverage units helped limit the Mocs to 28 punt return yards.
