Alabama defensive back Tony Mitchell has been reportedly cleared to return to team activities, according to Touchdown Alabama.

"A source close to Tony Mitchell told Touchdown Alabama Thursday the Alabama freshman has been cleared to participate in team activities again," wrote Justin Smith.

The Alabaster, Ala., native was arrested on March 15 on marijuana charges during a traffic stop in Holmes County Fla., alongside Ala., native Christophere Lewis.

"Both subjects were transported to the Holmes County Jail. Antonio Mitchell is charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to sell and/or deliver. Christophere Lewis is charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to sell and/or deliver, and carrying a concealed firearm without a permit," wrote the Holmes County Sheriff's Department on Facebook.

The following week, Alabama football head coach Nick Saban suspended Mitchell indefinitely.

"Tony Mitchell has been suspended from the team and all team activities until we gather more information about the situation and what his legal circumstance is," said Saban in a March press conference. "Guys, everybody's got an opportunity to make choices and decisions. There's no such thing as being in the wrong place at the wrong time."

Mitchell was placed on probation last Tuesday.

The freshman is a four-star recruit from the class of 2023. He ranks No. 194 nationally and No. 14 in the state of Ala., according to 247Sports.  He enrolled at the Capstone on Jan. 10, 2023.
