Alabama Expected to Land Transfer WR
For the Crimson Tide fans who were worried about all the transfers out of the program, time to settle down.
Alabama has had a huge recruiting weekend, with five-star wide receiver Ryan Williams, Washington Transfer cornerback Jabbar Muhammad, and Saraland quarterback KJ Lacey, among others, returning to Tuscaloosa for visits this weekend.
The Crimson Tide landed Washington OL transfer Parker Brailsford late on Saturday night, and they are expected to land another transfer. Washington wide receiver Germie Bernard is at Alabama and is expected to commit to the Crimson Tide according to Pete Thamel of ESPN.
Bernard was the fourth wide receiver in the Washington wide receiver room, but he was slotted behind three wide receivers that are projected to go within the top 75 picks of April's NFL draft.
Bernard caught 34 passes for 419 yards and two touchdowns during Washington's 14-1 season.
Crimson Tide fans could draw similar comparisons to Jameson Williams's transfer to Alabama. Williams was the fourth wide receiver on the Ohio State Buckeye's depth chart before he transferred to Alabama for his junior season, where he was a Belitnikoff finalist with 1,572 yards and 15 touchdowns.
Bernard can compete for early playing time following the departures of Jermaine Burton to the NFL draft and Isaiah Bond to Texas via the transfer portal.
He followed former Washington head coach and now Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer to Tuscaloosa. He'll already have a relationship with the Crimson Tide wide receiver coach, JaMarcus Shephard, who also came to Alabama from Washington.
