Before the biggest matchup of the season, however, the Coaches and AP Polls were released, as they are every Sunday. Typically, teams don't drop during a bye week because they haven't played, so the last impression of the team has been accounted for in the previous week's polls. However, in the case of the Crimson Tide, Alabama fell once again after not playing during the fourth week of the season.
