The Alabama Crimson Tide made two hires for its front office on Monday, with Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports reporting that the Crimson Tide is expected to hire Arizona Cardinals scout Stephen Wise and Georgia Tech executive director of recruiting Alex Mathis.

Stephen Wise just completed his fifth season with the Arizona Cardinals and his second as the team's representative with the National Football Scouting service, according to his bio on the Cardinals' website. Wise was promoted as the team's representative in May 2024. Wise graduated from the University of South Carolina with a bachelor's degree after serving as a football recruiting assistant with the Gamecocks for three seasons.

 

Alex Mathis just completed his first season with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets after joining the team as the Yellow Jackets' executive director of recruiting in 2025, according to the team's website. He spent the previous three seasons with UCF, acting as the team's assistant director of player personnel for the 2022-23 season. He was promoted to executive director of recruiting ahead of the 2023-24 season. Before his time in college football, Mathis spent eight seasons as a coach and recruiting coordinator at Fredrica Academy, Brantley County High School, and Glynn Academy. All three schools are in Georgia. Mathis is a Coastal Georgia alum and received his master's at Georgia Southern.
