Alabama football’s quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and defensive end Isaiah Buggs were selected as Southeastern Conference Players of the Week, the league office announced on Monday morning. Tagovailoa earned Offensive Player of the Week accolades while Buggs was selected as Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week.

Tagovailoa amassed 397 yards of total offense and five touchdowns against the Aggies. He finished 22-of-28 passing for a 73.3 percent completion percentage, totaling a career-high 387 yards which ranks fifth in a single game in the Alabama record books. The sophomore threw for four touchdowns while adding one on the ground to match the single-game touchdown responsibility mark for Alabama, as well.

Buggs finished his day with a career-high 3.5 sacks (-12 yards) and four tackles for loss (-12 yards) as part of the senior’s seven stops in the game, good for second on the Crimson Tide. The defensive end added a pair of quarterback pressures as part of Alabama’s season-high 12 hurries.
