In an conversation with On3's Steve Wiltfong on Wednesday, four-star offensive tackle Ekene Ogboko said Alabama is one of the top schools for the junior offensive tackle from South Garner High School in Garner, North Carolina.

Ogboko completed his first visit to Tuscaloosa this past weekend for the Crimson Tide's Junior Day, which featured a large number of elite prospects in the 2026 class. This visit was a success for Kalen Deboer and his staff, with Ogboko speaking highly of the Crimson Tide after his visit, telling Bama247's Brett Greenberg Monday, "It was a great visit," adding, "It definitely exceeded expectations."

Standing 6 feet 6 and weighing 295 pounds, Ogboko is an athletic freak who can block all levels of the defense. His first step is faster than most defensive linemen, and he is stronger than most players in his age group, with the junior from South Garner High driving his defender off the line with ease most of the time, resulting in a pancake. Ogboko played on offense and defense for the Titans this season, totaling 60 tackles, 26 tackles for loss, and 5 sacks.

On3's Industry Ranking currently ranks Ogboko as the 6th best offensive tackle in the 2026 class and the 49th top player in the class. The four-star lineman has offers from eight SEC schools, including Georgia, Tennessee, and Auburn.

Following Alabama's spectacular Junior Day, which saw the Tide get multiple official visits from top prospects in the 2026 class, Deboer and Alabama's offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic made a lasting impression on Ogboko who went on to share his thoughts on coach Kapilovic, with the four star offensive lineman telling Bama247. "He's straightforward," Ogboko continued. "He'll tell me what I need to do. I think he's a real guy."

On3's 49th best player in the 2026 class went on to speak about his thoughts on coach Deboer's first season as the Head Coach of the Crimson Tide, with Ogboko telling Bama247 "I think for his first year, he didn't do as bad of a job as people say," he mentioned. "If they keep being consistent, they'll grow and get better."

With Early National Signing Day still 10 months away, Ogboko has plenty of time to recruit. He has yet to arrange an official visit to the Crimson Tide, but it wouldn't be surprising if the 4-star lineman scheduled one for this summer, with numerous 2026 prospects planning visits on June 6th following Alabama's junior day this past weekend.
