Bird announced on X that he will join the Crimson Tide with two years of eligibility remaining. He played two seasons with the Golden Bears, starting in the 2024-25 season and contributing significant playing time during his freshman year, completing 59 snap attempts without any errors.

Ranked as the top long-snapper in the 2023 class by Kohl's Professional Camps, Bird has been recognized for his exceptional skills. “He has set the standard for the 2023 class and has for multiple years,” said Kohl in a scouting report. “Bird is so dominant, when he doesn’t have the top chart in the country, people are confused about what happened.”

Standing 6 feet tall and weighing 210 pounds, Bird is expected to be a dependable asset for the Crimson Tide, potentially filling a crucial role on special teams for the 2025-26 season, especially with current four-year long-snapper Kneeland Hibbett nearing his eligibility.
