Alabama Strengthens Bullpen with Key Addition on Tuesday
Rob Vaughn has had a successful offseason in the transfer portal, resulting in the Tide landing nine commitments, with five of those being pitchers and four being position players. On Tuesday, Alabama landed its fifth bullpen addition.

Former Texas Tech pitcher Tyler Bourdreau announced on Tuesday that he will be joining the Crimson Tide for his final season of eligibility. Boudreau shared his decision on his Instagram account.
Boudreau made 13 appearances, with 10 being starts, where he went 1-4 while maintaining a 6.65 ERA, and struck out 49 batters in 47.1 innings. The Tide’s newest addition was a weekend starter for most of Texas Tech’s Big 12 matchups. Bourdreau had five games where the righty struck out at least six batters.
Alabama’s newest bullpen addition is out of Sylvan Lake, Canada, where he started his college career off playing his first three seasons at Midland College in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference before transferring to Lubbock last season.
Bourdreau was named the WJCAC pitcher of the year in 2024 thanks to his 11-2 record on the mound. During that season, the righty had a five-game stretch where he struck out at least ten batters. Bourdreau struck out 128 batters throughout 85.0 innings while maintaining a 4.45 ERA in 2024.
This is a big get for the Tide whose losing its ace pitcher in Riley Quick who led the team last season in ERA (3.92) and strikeouts (70) this is a role that Boudreau could very well slide into with Alabama’s bullpen not being its strongest position room last season with either poor starting pitcher or relief pitching coated the Tide a lot of losses this past season, so adding in guys like Boudreau, Matthew Tippie, Kaden Humphrey, Owen Sarna, and Evan Steckmesser this offseason only makes Vaughn’s squad stronger for next season.
