Alabama Lands Second Bullpen Arm from Portal
Tuscaloosa, Ala. — Rob Vaughn and his staff have been on fire recently on the recruiting trail since the Tide’s season ended, with the team landing its second addition to the bullpen on Saturday.

Kaiden Humphrey, a right-handed pitcher from the University of North Florida, announced on Saturday that he will be moving to Tuscaloosa. Humphrey will bring his veteran experience to a bullpen that recently added another seasoned pitcher, Matthew Tippie, earlier this week.
"Blessed to announce that I will continue my academic and athletic career at The University of Alabama." Humphrey wrote on Twitter, "Special thank you to the coaches at Alabama for giving me this opportunity. #RollTide"
Humphrey had an impressive junior season at North Florida, recording 46 strikeouts while allowing only 22 hits and 15 runs over 29.1 innings. His best performance occurred during a 2-3 loss against South Carolina in April, where he achieved four strikeouts in two innings pitched, holding the Gamecocks scoreless and hitless. The right-handed pitcher was named to the All-ASUN second team at the end of the season, finishing with 11 saves.
The new addition to the Crimson Tide's bullpen began his college career at Stetson but transferred to North Florida after his freshman season.
This is an excellent addition for the Tide, as Humphrey is a solid candidate to fill Carson Ozmer’s role from last season as the team’s closing pitcher. The former North Florida pitcher has three years of experience in college baseball and is on the midseason watchlist for Stopper of the Year.
Humphrey has updated his social media bio, informing fans that he is now a "Baseball Thrower" at Alabama.
The relief pitcher is the third player that the Crimson Tide has signed since the transfer portal opened on June 2. They have also added Matthew Tippie from Texas State and Justin Osterhouse from Purdue Fort-Wayne, who is the first position player they have acquired during this transfer period. Rob Vaughn and his coaching staff are actively seeking new talent, and the Tide will likely make more additions before the portal closes on July 1.
