The University of Alabama will finish its 2017 class with eight in-state players with the final signee being top-ranked defensive lineman LaBryan Ray.

The James Clemens defensive end announced his decision at a high school ceremony on National Signing Day and chose the Crimson Tide over Florida, Tennessee, Ole Miss and others. Landing Ray means Alabama will bring six of the top nine in-state players to campus for the 2017 season.

Ray entered his senior year as a top prospect but most recruiting services had him among the bottom half of the top 100. A big senior year and all-star circuit boosted his stock, and he eventually finished as a five-star, top 25 player, and the No. 1 defensive end in the nation. Not only is he one of Alabama's top recruits in the 2017 class, but he fills a huge position of need.

The Crimson Tide should lock up another top-ranked recruiting class when all of the dust settles on signing day. The program will finish with six five-star players on the 247Sports composite rankings.
