Starting pitcher Lauren Esman is coming off her strongest start of the season, as she went six innings while only allowing one hit, one walk, and one run while striking out two. She stayed very efficient and the defense had her back throughout the whole game. Montana Fouts came out to close the game in the seventh and struck out Bub Feringa swinging to end the game. Ally Shipman was the star at the plate as she went 3-4 with two singles, a double, and a run scored.

Game one on Friday will honor Montana Fouts on her senior day, as she will be taking the circle in front of her home crowd to set the tone for the rest of the series.

Shipman, Fouts, and the rest of the Tide are hoping to keep the strong pitching performances and winning ways going as the Tigers are in town this weekend for a 3-game series starting Friday at 8 P.M. CT.
