Alabama football analyst Dave Huxtable is headed to the NFL to join the Atlanta Falcons.

"Now Huxtable is headed to the NFL. He's joining the Atlanta Falcons as a senior defensive assistant coach on the staff of Falcons leader Arthur Smith," wrote FootballScoop's John Brice.

The Ill., native is a veteran coach in collegiate football, coaching the defensive side of the ball for his entire career, mostly holding the positions of linebackers coach and defensive coordinator.

Some of his most notable tenures were with Georgia Tech (1992-97), North Carolina (2001-03), Central Florida (2007-10), Pittsburgh (2012), and NC State (2013-19).

He has been an analyst at the Capstone since 2021.

Huxtable is the third analyst and fourth staffer from Alabama to leave for the NFL this offseason. Former Alabama analyst Todd Grantham is headed to the New Orleans Saints and former Alabama analyst Will Lawing and former Alabama offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien are both headed to the New England Patriots.
