Alabama Surges Up Recruiting Boards to No. 1
With the commitment of four-star tight end Ty Lockwood, the Alabama Crimson Tide's 2023 recruiting class is now officially ranked first in the nation, according to 247Sports. On3 also currently lists the Tide as No. 1 while Rivals continue to place Alabama behind Notre Dame at second.
The Tide made a recent strong push in recruiting over the last few weeks with the additions of five-stars Caleb Downs and Richard Young and four-stars Justice Haynes, Dylan Lonergan, Olaus Alinen, Hunter Osborne and the aforementioned Lockwood.
Saban, since missing out on in-state five-star Peter Woods on July 8, has added eight members to the 2023 class and moved up from No. 19 to No. 1.
While many began to doubt The Goat because of a seemingly slow start in this year's cycle, Saban has once again shown why he should simply never be questioned.
Since arriving at Alabama, the legendary coach has put together 15 classes ranked in the top-5 and has adapted to every new change that has been thrown at him.
Whether it be transfer portal, NIL or something else further down the road, one thing is certain and that is that Saban will find a way to make it work for him.
Alabama kicks off the 2022 season in just over a month against Utah State at home in Bryant-Denny Stadium. The Tide is seeking revenge after a disappointing end to last year, losing in heartbreaking fashion to the Georgia Bulldogs on the biggest stage.
