Alabama will have a chance at revenge next Saturday, as the Crimson Tide will welcome in the Vanderbilt Commodores in a rematch of Vanderbilt's shocking upset of No. 1 Alabama last season, 40-35, in Nashville, Tennessee.

It was Vanderbilt's first win in program history against a No. 1 team, and the Commodores have since established themselves as a top-25 team in college football. Vanderbilt currently sits at 4-0 and No. 18 in the AP Poll, while the Crimson Tide sits at 2-1 and No. 17 in the AP Poll.

It is worth noting that Alabama has never been ranked lower than Vanderbilt when the Crimson Tide and the Commodores have played in Tuscaloosa. Given the opponents each team is facing this week (Alabama faces No. 5 Georgia on Saturday, Vanderbilt faces unranked Utah State), the odds of it happening this season are non-zero.

Alabama will look to get revenge on both Vanderbilt and returning starting quarterback Diego Pavia from last season. In Vanderbilt's 40-35 upset of the Crimson Tide, Pavia passed for 252 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing for 56 yards on the ground.

Alabama and Vanderbilt will kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT next Saturday, October 4, inside Bryant-Denny Stadium. The game will be broadcast on either ABC or ESPN, with the network being announced likely early next week.

Before Alabama can turn its attention to Vanderbilt, however, the Crimson Tide has to face off against the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday, September 27, at 6:30 p.m. CT.
