Quinn, a 6-foot-1, 196-pound sophomore from Donaghmore, Northern Ireland, played his freshman season of college football at Marshall last season, where he made 21-26 field goals (80.8%) for the Thundering Herd, including going 9-11 on 40+-yard kicks. Quinn was 38-39 on extra points last season, with a career-long of 55 yards, made in a 44-27 loss to Coastal Carolina on October 30. He did not miss a field goal in five of the nine games he attempted at least one.

35 players were named to the Lou Groza Award Watchlist, including the following SEC kickers:

  • Lucas Carneiro - Ole Miss
  • Patrick Durkin - Florida
  • Kyle Ferrie - Mississippi State
  • Alex McPherson - Auburn
  • David Olano - Texas A&M
  • Lorcan Quinn - Alabama
  • Cooper Ranvier - Tennessee
  • Tate Sandell - Oklahoma*
  • Gianni Spetic - Texas

Quinn is in a kicking competition with returning senior Conor Talty, who made 69.6% of his kicks last season, but was a perfect 48-48 on extra points with a career-long of 48 yards. Talty made 100% of his kicks three times last season, and was 5-for-5 on kicks after his miss against Eastern Illinois, when fans booed him off the field.
