Alabama Women’s Basketball Lands In-State Commitment
The Alabama women’s basketball team secured a huge in-state commitment from the class of 2024 this week in Leah Brooks. According to Prep Girls Hoops, Brooks is considered the No. 1 prospect in her class in the state of Alabama.
Brooks announced her commitment to the Tide on Wednesday via social media.
The 6-foot-2 forward helped lead the Hazel Green High School Lady Trojans to a perfect season and the 6A State Championship this past year.
Brooks averaged 14.1 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 2.4 assists in her sophomore campaign. Brooks picked up high honors at the end of the season, earning spots on the All-Tennessee Valley girls basketball second-team and the Alabama Sports Writers Association Class 6A second-team all-state.
Brooks chose Alabama over offers from UAB, South Alabama, Southern Miss, and several others.
The Crimson Tide's current roster is mainly made up of upperclassmen with only one incoming freshman, so this pick-up is huge for the program moving forward.
