TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – As the 2024-25 basketball season approaches, the Alabama women’s basketball team has unveiled its non-conference schedule, promising fans a series of exciting matchups and tournaments. Fresh off their third NCAA Tournament appearance in four years, the Crimson Tide is gearing up for another competitive season under head coach Kristy Curry.

Home Court Advantage Early On

The Tide will kick off the season with five of their first six games at home in Coleman Coliseum. The campaign begins with an exhibition game against Columbus State on October 30, followed by the regular-season opener against New Orleans on November 4. This home-heavy start will provide Alabama with a significant advantage as they look to build momentum early in the season.

Diverse and Challenging Schedule

Alabama’s non-conference schedule is filled with diverse and challenging opponents. Including the exhibition game, the Tide will host eight teams at Coleman Coliseum. The team will also compete in two prestigious holiday tournaments: the Emerald Coast Classic on November 25-26 and the West Palm Beach Tournament on December 20-21. Additionally, Alabama will participate in the SEC/ACC Challenge for the second consecutive year, facing off against California on December 5.

The Crimson Tide will encounter teams from ten different conferences, including three teams from the Sun Belt Conference and two from the Atlantic Coast Conference. Notably, they will play against three teams that made appearances in the first round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament, providing a strong test for the squad.

Season Ticket Information

Fans eager to support the Crimson Tide can purchase season tickets through RollTide.com or by contacting the Alabama Athletics Ticket Office at (205) 348-BAMA. Season ticket holders will have first access to tickets through the Season Ticket Renewal Process, which runs from July 10 to August 16. Tip times and television designations for the games will be announced at a later date.

Injury Update: Reychel Douglas

In a recent announcement, head coach Kristy Curry shared that sophomore guard Reychel Douglas will miss the entire 2024-25 season due to a knee injury. Douglas made 17 appearances during the 2023-24 season and was expected to play a significant role this year. Her absence will be felt, but the team is prepared to rally and step up in her absence.

Looking Ahead

Alabama is coming off a successful 2023-24 season, finishing with a 24-10 overall record and an impressive 13-2 mark in non-conference play. The team advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament and is aiming to build on that success this season. With a strong roster and a challenging schedule, the Crimson Tide is poised for another competitive year in women’s college basketball.

As the season draws near, excitement is building around the Alabama women’s basketball program. Fans and players alike are eager to see what the 2024-25 season holds for the Crimson Tide.
