Bama in the NFL: Week 15 Outlook
Week 15 is here, and with it are some huge matchups! As the playoff picture becomes more clear, this weekend will help shape the seeding. Let's see which Tide players will have an impact in these massive games.
Bills vs. Lions (Sun. 3:25 p.m. ct):
Amari Cooper (Bills) - Coming off his most productive game as a Bill, Cooper is primed to make a plash in this one, and they will absolutely need him too. With an MVP caliber qb, he should be able to ball, especially with Coleman and Kincaid coming back for this one, leaving Cooper to clean up what's left.
Jameson Williams (Lions) - With a great game last week, and Goff getting him the targets, Williams should be able to make an impact in the deep secondary as that is the Bills weak spot on defense. Expect him to be a big part of this Lions offensive game plan, much like how D-Hop was when the Bills faced the Chiefs.
Jahmyr Gibbs - (Lions) - While he is splitting time with Montgomery, he is still the most explosive of the two, especially in the pass game. Expect Gibbs to tote the rock and catch it out of the backfield in abundance, as the Lions pride themselves on establishing the run game.
Eagles vs. Steelers (Sun. 3:25 p.m. ct):
Jalen Hurts (Eagles) - Yes there is outside noise and drama coming from the locker room around this Eagles passing game, but they cannot let it seep into their on field play. With an emphasis on the run game since acquiring Barkley, don't expect it too. Expect the Eagles led by Hurts, to lean on the run game and to pass efficiently because of it. However this Steelers defense is no joke. It could go either way.
DeVonta Smith (Eagles) - Being the main short - medium yardage guy, and with Brown getting doubled more than ever in his career, expect Smitty to to get the targets and the catches. He found the endzone last week, Let's see if Hurts and Smitty can connect again this week.
Najee Harris (Steelers) - Finding the endzone last week against a tough Browns defense, Harris should be able to do the same here. Getting him going and the run game established early is key for this offense. Najee will see the rock plenty in this game and he should be able to be pretty efficient.
Dolphins vs. Texans (Sun. Noon ct):
Tua Tagovailoa (Dolphins) - Coming off a big overtime divisional win, the Dolphins look to stack two wins together this week against the Texans. This is looking like it might be a shootout between two great explosive offenses. Tagovailoa is more than capable of getting it done here, and with Hill playing top notch ball, he should be able too.
Jaylen Waddle (Dolphins) - He is getting the targets and getting the yards, finding the endzone has been harder though. With Hill likely getting most of the attention, it wouldn't surprise anyone if this was a Waddle game. Expect him to do what he does best here.
Will Anderson jr. (Texans) - Coming off a bye, this defense is looking to bounce back. With Anderson jr. now fully healthy and rested, Expect him to make a splash like he usually does. With him in the top ten for sacks on the season (he's tied at 7 with 9.5 sacks) expect him to get home at least once.
That does it for this week's biggest matchups and the Tide players that will play big roles in them! Check back Tuesday for the week 15 recap! And as always; Roll Tide!!
