Charles Bediako Files Appeal to Alabama Supreme Court Amid Eligibility Denial
Alabama may not have seen the last of Charles Bediako, as the former Crimson Tide big man has filed an appeal to the Alabama Supreme Court amid his eligibility denial, according to Nick Kelly of AL.com.

According to Kelly's report, Bediako is seeking interim injunctive relief that would allow him to play for the Crimson Tide while the appeal is pending. While the appeal has been filed with the Alabama Supreme Court, the request for interim injunctive relief that would allow Bediako to play has been filed with Tuscaloosa Circuit Court Judge Daniel Pruet, who denied the motion for preliminary injunction for Bediako on February 9.
Bediako played in five games and made two starts for Alabama this season under a temporary restraining order, where the Crimson Tide went 3-2 with Bediako in the lineup. He averaged 10 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game while playing 21.6 minutes for the Crimson Tide.
Bedikao was denied a preliminary injunction by Tuscaloosa Circuit Court Judge Daniel Pruet on February 9 after he played in five games for Alabama under a temporary restraining order. Bediako originally played for the Tide from 2021 to 2023 before declaring for the NBA draft. He went undrafted in the 2023 NBA draft before signing with the San Antonio Spurs' G-League team. He has also spent time with the Denver Nuggets' G-League affiliate and, most recently, with the Detroit Pistons affiliate. While he has never played in an NBA game, he has played for all three G-League teams, making him a professional basketball player trying to return to college.
After his preliminary injunction was denied by Judge Pruet, Bediako has remained enrolled in class and practiced with the Alabama men's basketball team, but has not played in any games since the denial.
