Can Tua Lead the Dolphins to a Back-to-Back Playoff Spot?
Tua Tagovailoa had his best season yet last year as recorded 25 touchdowns and eight interceptions, leading the Dolphins to a 9-8 record, losing to the Buffalo Bills in the Wild Card Game.
The 2023 season, however, will have a lot more challenges for Tagovailoa, such as playing a harder schedule, including both Super Bowl teams from last year, trying not to get a concussion from falling on his head or any other type of major injury, and competing with the other AFC East teams.
One of the things that makes Tagovailoa a great player is his leadership. In early April he was seen putting in work with receivers Erik Ezukanma, River Cracraft, Tyreek Hill, and former Alabama teammate Jaylen Waddle. He understands that he has to improve his own game in order to for his teammates to hold him accountable, and they love him for that.
The Dolphins made the playoffs for the first time since 2016 last season. They haven't made back-to back playoff berths since 2000-2001, nor have they won a playoff game since 2000. If Tagovailoa wants to end those droughts this season, he must keep being the leader he is now, as well as staying consistent on accuracy and avoiding any major injuries that could hold him off more than four games.
