Capstone Report with DC: Alabama Travels to Arkansas
For the third consecutive season, top ranked Alabama waltzed through September undefeated.
After pasting Louisiana 56-14 inside Bryant-Denny Stadium, Alabama heads into this Saturday's 11 AM kickoff at Arkansas with a perfect 5-0 mark.
During their weekly "Capstone Report with DC" segment on The Blitz, former Alabama fullback Martin Houston and DC from Golden Shores Productions looked back at last Saturday's win against Louisiana and previewed this weekend's trip to Arkansas.
The offense has posted at least 50 points in four of their five outings. A big reason for the explosion on offense has been the play of sophomore quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. The Hawaii native has completed 66 of his 88 pass attempts for 1,161 yards with 14 touchdowns and no interceptions.
Coming into this week, Tagovailoa remains the favorite according to Oddshark.com to win the Heisman Trophy.
According to DC, one factor could prevent Tagovailoa from taking home another Heisman Trophy to Tuscaloosa.
"I don't think there's any doubt that Tua is leading the Heisman race right now. The only thing he'll have to fight against is Alabama fatigue with the media not liking Alabama, but there will be some love for some other players that have a chance to lead their team to the College Football Playoff." DC said.
Even with that caveat, the Golden Shores Productions analyst still believes that the Crimson Tide's sophomore signal caller for a simple reason.
"His greatness is not depicted by how much playing time he gets. His greatness is about what he does when he is on the field. That's the way he'll be judged by." DC said.
Throughout the rest of his conversation with Martin Houston, DC touched on how the Crimson Tide played to the standard set by Nick Saban against the Ragin' Cajuns, Henry Ruggs' explosiveness at wide receiver, Matt Womack's potential to be a regular contributor on the offensive line and how the leadership on the team can prevent this weekend's clash at Arkansas from being a possible trap game.
