Courtney Morgan Earns Huge Payday

It was reported earlier on Monday that the Alabama Board of Trustees is set to meet on the contract of general manager Courtney Morgan.

The details have begun to be revealed, as Matt Zenitz of 247 Sports reports that Morgan will earn an increased salary from $500,000 to $825,000.

It was previously rumored Morgan was in the running for the President of Football role by the USC Trojans. However, Morgan chose to stay with the Crimson Tide.

There's no doubt the impact of Morgan has been felt early on in the DeBoer era in Tuscaloosa. Morgan is viewed by many as the top recruiter in the country, as well as one of the best minds off the field in the modern era of college football. He's also helped orchestrate the "Cold Summer" campaign across Alabama recruiting this summer.

The staffers that have followed Kalen DeBoer have remained loyal, with Morgan and several others following DeBoer across the country from Seattle, Washington, to Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Morgan has been an instrumental part of the early success off the field for Kalen DeBoer and Alabama. His efforts on the recruiting trail have launched Alabama to the No. 2 overall recruiting class according to 247 Sports.

Morgan helped build the rosters for both Michigan and Washington, who played in the 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship. Alabama hopes Morgan can return the Capstone to the promised land - a place it has not seen for four seasons.

In March, Morgan had a contract of $500,000 approved by the Board of Trustees. Assuming the board approves the new contract on Tuesday, he'll receive a raise of $325,000 just a few months into his new deal.
