Deboer Leaves Lasting Impression on Recruits After Impressive Georgia Victory
This past Saturday, September 28th, in front of a sold-out crowd in Bryant-Denny Stadium, and the former 45th president of the United States, Donald Trump, paid a visit to Tuscaloosa to watch the top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide face off against SEC rivals the Georgia Bulldogs, where these two teams did not disappoint as the Crimson Tide went on to defeat the Bulldogs 41-34 in front of over 100 recruits in one of the best college football games of the season.
Alabama had a Star-studded visitor list for the Georgia game this past weekend, and the Crimson Tide left an impression on these athletes, with several of them going to X (formerly known as Twitter) after the weekend to post about how great their experience was with some key guys for the 2026 class speaking with Justin Smith from Touchdown Alabama Magazine about their visit this past weekend.
Jett Washington of Bishop Gorman High School (Las Vegas, N.V.), a class of 2026 Four Star safety, was one among the prospects who spoke with Smith. The highly touted safety went on to say nothing but good things about the Tide, telling Smith that Alabama's defense is "elite and have great defensive backs," with the Tide playing smothering defense in the first half against the Bulldogs, allowing only 100 passing yards and coming away with two interceptions in the first half and one interception by Crimson Tide Freshmen DB Zabien Brown in the final minute of the game to seal the Tide's victory.
Washington continued to praise the Crimson Tide, referring to them as the "Alphas" of college football. According to On3, the 6 foot 4 185-pound 2026 Safety class is the top-ranked player in Nevada.
In addition to Jett Washington, Zyan Gibson of Gadsen City (Gadsen, A.L.), an in-state four-star defensive back, also spoke with Justin Smith of Touchdown Alabama about his visit to Tuscaloosa this past weekend. Gibson, ranks third in the state of Alabama for the Class of 2026 according to On3, told Touchdown Alabama that he had the chance to hangout with "Dre Kirkpatrick and other players" after the Tide defeated the Bulldogs 41-34. Smith said, "I never experienced that before."
Following Alabama's recruiting weekend, top 2026 prospects, including Bralan Womack of Hartfield Academy (Flowood, MS), Mississippi's top prospect, came to X (formerly known as Twitter) to show their support for the team.
Following the tremendous win for the Tide, Devin Carter, a four-star wide receiver prospect out of Douglas County High School (Douglasville, GA), turned to social media as well. As the number four receiver prospect in the 2026 class, he took to his X account to give a big Roll Tide to the Alabama fan base.
Many prospects from the 2027 class also posted comments on social media about their time in Tuscaloosa. Trent Seaborn, a 4-star quarterback from Thompson High School (Alabaster, A.L) in the class of 2027, thanked the Alabama staff and players for an amazing weekend in a post on Seaborn's X account.
These are just a few of the prospects who reached out on social media following the game, with many of them in the 2026 and 2027 classes, which is terrific for the Crimson Tide, who are now ranked 33rd in the country in their 2026 class, according to 247 Sports. The Crimson Tide has only one commit: 4 star cornerback Dorian Barney from Carrolton High School, who committed in May.
With two big-time Edge pledges, 4 Star Jabarrius Garror from Vigor High School (Vigor, A.L) and Ba'Roc Willis from Moody High School (Moody, A.L.), who both committed to the Tide at the end of July this year, the Crimson Tide's 2027 class is currently ranked first in the nation according to 247 Sports.
Kalen Deboer and the Crimson Tide had an incredible weekend, not only beating Georgia and remaining unbeaten, but also sending a message to the College Football world and recruits that Alabama is not going anywhere.
