The 2026 recruiting trail is hot right now for Alabama as they just picked up their second defensive back commitment from the 2026 recruiting class, and the second commitment of the class overall.

On Saturday morning, Alabama earned a commitment from four-star, in-state defensive back Jamarrion "Juice" Gordon. On Sunday, Alabama added to its class with four-star defensive back Dorian Barney, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports.

Barney, a six-foot-one, 170-pound cornerback, attends Peachtree Ridge High School in Suwanee, Georgia. He is a two-sport athlete, playing football and basketball. During his freshman season of high school, Barney totaled 32 tackles, eight picks, and six pass breakups.

He chose the Crimson Tide over Ohio State, Florida State, and USC.

No position on Alabama's roster was decimated more than defensive back when Nick Saban retired. Multiple starters and projected starters transferred from the program, as well as several depth pieces.

Kalen DeBoer and his staff did a good job replenishing the depth with the spring transfer window. Still, the Crimson Tide will likely be in the same position next offseason, with likely the entire starting secondary except for true freshman Zabien Brown heading to the NFL. Alabama will need to continue to bolster its defensive back room through high school commitments, and they continue to do so with their second commitment of 2026.

Barney earned an offer from the Crimson Tide during an unofficial visit on March 6. According to composite, Barney is the No. 4 overall cornerback in the country and a top-50 prospect.
