Friday night’s series opener between Alabama and No. 15 Mississippi State has been postponed due to inclement weather. The game will be rescheduled as part of a doubleheader (both nine-inning games) on Saturday afternoon with first pitch slated for 1 p.m. CST, from Dudy Noble Field.

The delay due to inclement weather will be nothing new as Alabama (27-18, 11-9 SEC) is coming off a two-game, rain-shortened series sweep over the Texas A&M Aggies last weekend. The Tide posted a pair of 3-2 wins over the Aggies before Sunday’s game was rained out.

Meanwhile the 15th ranked Mississippi State Bulldogs, who enter are coming into the series with a 33-13 and most recently were swept on the road by No. 3 Vanderbilt last weekend. They are currently in fifth place in the SEC Western Division, 1.5 games behind third place Alabama.

You will be able to hear tomorrow’s double header along with Sunday’s contest with Chris Stewart and Lee Tracy on the call as part of the Crimson Tide Sports Network broadcast on 99.1 WDGM’s sister station, 95.3 WFFN FM.
